The City of Hillsdale Police Department provides 24 hour police protection to the city of Hillsdale. The Department consists of approximately 15 sworn officers, a full time Chief, Deputy Chief, and Detective.

Hillsdale Fire Department

Originally it was organized as the Baw Beese Fire Company in 1857. Later it became the Hilsdale Fire Department and moved to the old firehouse on McCullum St. Somewhere in the 30's they moved to the first floor of City Hall until 1964. It is currently located at 77 E. Carleton Rd.

There are 3 full time fiefighters and 19 part time. Full time staff includes Kevin Pauken, Eric Pressler, & Steve McDowell.
