Water Department

The Village of Waldron uses two wells well #1 has a total depth of 109 feet, while well #2 is 114 feet deep. The water from each of the wells is pumped to the village’s iron removal plant. At the iron removal facility, the water is passed through an aerator where oxygen is combined with the iron in the water.

The iron in the water combines chemically with the oxygen in the air to form an iron compound that will be removed by filtering the aerated water drops into a holding tank where the chemical reactions started in the aerator are allowed to come to completion.
The water is then sent though a series of sand filters where the iron is removed. Chlorine is added to aid in the removal of iron and also to kill any harmful bacteria that may be present in the water.

For any questions regarding Waldron's Water Quality e-mail the Village of Waldron or call 517-286-6677.  The Water System Operator is Steve Reiger.
