The Acme Chair Factory
The Acme Chair Factory of Reading, manufacturers of folding chairs and other seats, was led by C.D. Schermerhorn and was one of the largest of its line in the United States. The wood buildings burned to the ground in 1920, but were quickly rebuilt of brick, and the business continued to prosper for many more years.
